A new opportunity has arisen for a dietitian to join our experienced, forward thinking and supportive team of Acute services dietitians.
We are looking for a dietitian ideally with some experience in neurology and MDT working, or this would be an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 or Band 6 dietitian looking to try another speciality in caring for patients with Neurological conditions.
The role would involve seeing neurology inpatients and outpatients and working very closely with the Neurology Home Enteral Feeding Dietitians. You would join the team of Acute dietitians based at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital but you may be required to occasionally work at Cheltenham General Hospital or in the community.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will provide complex dietetic care to Neurology patients in a variety of settings. You will require excellent interpersonal and communication skills including in observation and active listening. You will work closely with the Neurology MDT, as well as needing to work as part of a team and liaise with professionals at all levels.
The successful candidate will need to be self-motivated and flexible to prioritise their own workload and be assertive in their time management. The role provides opportunities to develop dietetic skills in a specialist area, working with a very experienced and dynamic team of Acute dietitians.
We encourage and support audit, research and contribution to service development within the dietetic department and Acute services.
You would also be involved in supervising staff and students.
Some travel may be required.
About us
We are a large friendly department based on 2 sites; Cheltenham General Hospital (CGH) & Gloucestershire Royal Hospital (GRH).The team is also made up of the Home Enteral Feeding Team (HEFT).
Within the department at GRH we have a team of Acute Dietitians, Renal Dietitians, Paediatric Dietitians and a Home Enteral Feed Team. At CGH we have a team of Oncology Dietitians as well as the Acute team. We also have a Nutrition Support Team, a Specialist Gastroenterology Team and Specialist Diabetes Dietitians working on both hospital sites.
Our teams include dietitians, dietetic support workers, dietetic assistants and nurses.
We are committed to continual professional development and support audit and quality improvement projects.
