Job summary
Applications are invited for a Consultant Breast Radiologist to join the existing imaging team at Thirlestaine Breast Centre, Gloucestershire NHS Foundation Trust.
This is a replacement post and both full/part-time working would be considered. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to contribute to a couple of general radiology sessions.
The successful candidate will be expected to have experience in breast imaging in both the screening and symptomatic settings. This includes the reporting of mammograms, breast ultrasound, stereotactic and ultrasound guided biopsies/wire localisations and breast MRI. Some experience of cross-sectional oncological imaging is also desirable, though not essential.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate would be joining a team of 3 consultant radiologists, 2 breast clinicians and 1 consultant radiographer. The unit is actively involved in role extension with Advanced Practice Radiographers performing film reading, ultrasound and image guided breast biopsy. Screening MRI is undertaken in the Cheltenham Imaging Centre adjacent to the Breast Centre.
We actively participate in audit and research and are currently undertaking clinical trials involving Contrast Enhanced Spectral mammography, digital breast tomosynthesis and breast MRI.
