Apprentice Healthcare assistant (level 2) in our Oncology (Cancer) Services
The Healthcare assistant apprenticeship at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable clinical experience and training in an acute hospital within our oncology department. Our Oncology service specialises in treating oncology (cancer) and haematology patients and delivers a variety of care including chemotherapy, radiotherapy and stem cell transplantation.
An apprenticeship is suitable for anyone who has an interest in pursuing a career in healthcare and gain a healthcare support worker intermediate level (2) apprenticeship qualification. Working under the direction of healthcare professionals they take care of the day-to-day needs of patients by providing help with personal care, meals and mobility. They also carry out a range of housekeeping duties as well as performing patient observations such as taking a patients temperature, pulse/blood pressure
Main duties of the job
- Minimum of 4 GCSEs (or equivalent) including English, Mathematics and preferably a Science, Physical Education or Health and Social care based subject
GCSE Grade D/3 English & Mathematics D/3 or equivalent. Please see person specification for further detail
