Job summary
The post-holder will be joining a small but supportive Therapist and TI team and the role involves both supporting the therapists and holding an independent appropriate caseload, working in both clinic and community settings for the assessment, prescription and provision of wheelchairs.

Main duties of the job
The post-holder will hold a caseload of appropriate complexity to assess, recommend and handover wheelchairs and pressure management to clients of all ages with a wide variety of medical conditions. The work is varied and will involve working in a clinic environment, schools, home, care, and hospital settings, the role will also involve admin and stock control. The post-holder will work independently or jointly with another member of staff from an internal or external team e.g. engineers.

- Technical qualification e.g. NVQ Level III Diagnostic and Therapeutic or equivalent technical/work experience.
- Maths/English GCSE or equivalent (Sound general education).

- Experience working in paid or voluntary employment within a rehabilitating role
- Basic understanding of o Relationship between illness/disability and social issues and their impact on functional ability. o Principles of occupational therapy clinical practices, procedures and risk assessment. o moving and handling principles and practice
- Basic appreciation of o The broad context of health and social care policy, risk assessment. o Clinical governance. o Eligibility criteria relevant to disability equipment.
