We are currently recruiting Apprentice Healthcare Support Workers into a number of full time posts in our busy Operating Department which covers specialities including Paediatrics, Neurosurgery, Orthopaedic Trauma, Plastic Surgery, Gynaecology and Obstetrics.
Full training will be provided however knowledge of working in an operating theatre setting is essential. You will need to have a willingness to learn with excellent communication skills. Basic IT skills will be advantageous.

Main duties of the job
- Responsible for assisting the qualified nursing team with setting up of the clinical area.
- Looking after patients pre and post procedure and reporting any concerns to the nursing team.
- Working as part of the multi-disciplinary team to maintain high levels of patient care and dignity.
- Contribute to clerical duties when required.
- Contribute to cleaning and housekeeping within the department.
- Ensure stock is available as required.
The successful candidate will complete the Level 2 Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship within 15 months.
