Would you like to work with radiology research teams across the NENC region to actively manage project specific activities, ensuring identified milestones and targets are met? Do you enjoy coordinating varied management, steering group, and project specific meetings to ensure progress against objectives is being maintained?
You will join the North East and North Cumbria (NENC) Imaging Academy, offering support and guidance to people in a variety of radiology roles from the 8 NENC Trusts. You will also work collaboratively with the NIHR Research Delivery Network Imaging Lead.
This role is 37.5 hours/week based in your own home, until 31st March 2026, flexible working considered. Secondment requests are welcome.

Main duties of the job
The focus of this role is to work with the NENC Radiology Research Lead Radiographer to encourage and support radiology-led research throughout the 8 NENC Trusts. You will support Radiology colleagues by providing education and signposting on how to convert a research idea into a working research project. Also assisting with funding applications and collating data for study set-ups.
The role will require advanced organisational skills to manage multiple projects at various stages of development with various deadlines. Applicants need to be able to analyse data to look for themes to feedback to staff verbally and in reports. You will need interpersonal and leadership skills to facilitate collaborative working relationships.
You will work alongside different professionals from many different organisations involved in radiology research. An NHS and research background will help the post holder understand the context for the work.

- To provide proactive research support to Investigators and teams seeking to set up and manage research studies within or requiring support from radiology.
- Study management responsibilities for radiology studies.
- To provide support to the research team in relation to research governance responsibilities.
- In association with the radiology research teams, actively manage project specific activities, ensuring identified milestones and targets are met.
- Prepare detailed study timelines for specific projects, monitoring study progress on a continuous basis, with a clear understanding of any impact on the critical path.
- Identify mechanisms for the early identification of potential issues in meeting milestones and development of potential solutions, including revisions to financial flows, along with the investigator and other teams.
- Co-ordination of various management, steering group, and project-specific team meetings to ensure appropriate progress against objectives is maintained.
- A conduit for regional radiology research teams across the other relevant teams supporting the project including, but not limited to Sponsor, finance, Grants & Contracts team, R&D and other support departments.
- Maintenance of research activity databases and assistance with the development of milestone/annual reports to the relevant funding bodies.
- Work collaboratively with wider R&D Team, providing support where required.
