Job summary

We are excited to recruit into an administration opportunity within Women's Services to support our Antenatal Clinic area.

We invite enthusiastic, self motivated individuals with a positive attitude and excellent computer literacy skills to apply to join the Admin Team to support with all elements of pathway administration - registering patients on to the system, making appointments, taking calls and supporting with reception duties are all part of a typical days' work - along with other tasks allocated on a roster basis.

Within this role there are a clear set of instructions to follow for each part of the roster, therefore ability to follow given instructions and pay attention to detail are a must.

Shifts to be worked Mon-Sat 8am - 8pm. Roster will be provided in advance

  • To provide and maintain an efficient and reliable 24 hour admissions service for women attending the Maternity Unit.
  • To provide an efficient out-patient service for women attend the Maternity Assessment Unit for urgent out-patient and day case care.
  • To ensure patient documents are prepared and delivered to the maternity unit in a timely manner
  • To provide admissions information to patients, relatives and staff
  • To deal with telephone enquires promptly
  • To provide assistance and guidance to the patients/visitors on arrival to the hospital

Please note it is a requirement of The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust that all successful candidates who require a DBS for the post they have been offered pay for their DBS certificate. The method of payment is a salary deduction from your first months pay.
