Newcastle is proud to be a leading clinical and academic centre for ageing and geriatrics. We have a strong focus on innovation, research and driving quality of care for older people. As such, we are looking for a dynamic geriatrician who is passionate about innovation and will work well within a progressive team of 16 Geriatricians. While the Department of Older People's Medicine has a strong emphasis on managing frailty across our wards, clinics, day units and community services, we are also developing our surgical liaison services with a particular focus on ortho-geriatrics. We would envisage that the post holders will play a key role in the development and delivery of this sub-speciality service.
Main duties of the job
The delivery of clinical services within Older People's Medicine in-patient, day unit, out-patient services. Additional sessions to support a sub-speciality interest, and teaching and research opportunities are likely to be available, appropriately job planned.
