Main duties of the job

The Project Officer will actively assist the management of the full project life cycle with a significant focus on change management and service modernisation. You will be educated to post graduate degree level or equivalent level of qualification or experience.

  • Identify potential risks and issues, developing mitigation strategies to ensure projects remain within timescales
  • Lead, motivate and develop the project teams, fostering a collaborative and productive working environment
  • Analyse data to understand trends and potential opportunities
  • Project planning skills to display and track progress
  • Maintaining and updating project reports and RAID logs as part of governance processes
  • Harnessing current ways of working, particularly pertaining to a standardised way of mobilising, monitoring and delivering NuTH projects
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, by evaluating ways of working, outcomes, and identifying lessons learnt to implement improvements

Essential

  • Be educated to degree level or equivalent level of qualification or experience e.g. Business, Health or have substantial experience in a relevant post
  • Formal project management qualification (PRINCE2) or ability to demonstrate experience and success of delivering projects

Desirable

  • PRINCE 2 practitioner
  • Quality/ Service Improvement

Knowledge & Experience

Essential

  • Have experience of managing multiple projects
  • Experience off affecting change in an organisation with no direct line management responsibility
  • Experience of working with clinicians
  • Experience of leading a team of diverse individuals to deliver projects to meet aims and objectives
  • Experience of management project and having successful delivered projects. Thorough understanding of the benefits of using Project management standards and the ability to adapt these to meet the requirements of the project

  • Have a good understanding of health and social care policy
  • Have experience of inter-agency working involving multiple and diverse partners
