If so, we have a rare and exciting opportunity to join our small friendly Moving and Handling team that is passionate about protecting our staff and promoting safer patient handling and mobility to improve outcomes for our service users.The team offer a friendly and supportive environment where you will be able to continue your professional development and learning in a varied role involving the regular delivery of staff training but also the provision of moving and handling advice and support to staff and managers, and delivery and implementation of moving and handling related policies and procedures.
If appointed on a Band 5 developmental scale you would be required to complete a competency framework progress from Band 5 to Band 6. The post holder would be required to keep a portfolio of evidence and clinical achievement to support the uplift to Band 6. This is a structured process which would be supported through clinical and management supervision and expected to be achieved within 18 months.

Main duties of the job
To work with your moving and handling team colleagues in the formulation and application of the moving and handling strategy.
To provide moving and handling training in line with the Core-Skills Training Framework guidance delivering engaging and informative training sessions, conducting training needs analyses, and provide ongoing support to staff to minimise the risk of injuries related to moving and handling patients and loads. Contribute to the production of relevant documentation, information and clear communications. Conducting reviews, audits and assisting in Inphase Investigations as directed.

- State registered Nurse, Physio, OT, or have a degree level qualification in a relevant area or experience in an NHS Moving and Handling Team Post
- Recent experience as a moving and handling facilitator/link person
- Experience in carrying a variety of moving and handling risk assessments on patients and objects
- Experience in carrying out patient handling training sessions on a ward/department
- Knowledge and understanding of health and safety law related to moving and handling and their practical implementation within a health care setting
- Evidence of CPD
