Job summary
This is a 10 PA full time post in Dermatology. Candidates for the post must be registered medical practitioners and on, or eligible to join, the Specialist Register within six months of the date of the Appointments Committee.
The successful candidate will be encouraged to develop a special interest in Skin cancer care, including skin care of immuno-suppressed patients, and would become a member of the local and specialist skin cancer MDTs. A continued commitment to general dermatology would be expected, and this would include general on-call on a 1 in 10 basis and inclusion in the rota for supervision of the urgent assessment clinic. Digital forms of assessment are increasingly used in our departmental practice, and the timetable would include digital skin cancer clinics, advice and guidance and electronic triage. Main duties of the job
The post holder will contribute to the general organisation and running of the dermatology services within the Trust and in outreach clinics, working in collaboration with colleagues.
They will participate in all aspects of Clinical Governance, making a significant contribution to multidisciplinary audit and risk management activities. The post-holder is expected to attend the weekly journal club, histopathology and clinical meetings held for patient care and CPD.
They will assist the Directorate Manager in the timely investigation of complaints, working to provide reports within the time frame set out by Trust Policy.
