Job summary
This 12-month post will offer excellent clinical experience and training in the management of all common rheumatologic conditions. It provides an opportunity to gain experience in the management of patients referred with suspected inflammatory arthritis including those relating to the spondyloarthropathies and autoimmune connective tissue diseases. Through supervised structured clinics, the post holder will become very experienced in the recognition of early inflammatory arthritis and distinguishing this from more degenerative and pain related syndromes. The post holder will be become confident in managing this group of patients with the support of appropriate diagnostic investigations and the wider MDT.
This job is ideal for someone who wishes to pursue a career in rheumatology and wishes to gain more experience in the speciality or someone with experience / qualifications in General practice wishing to gain more specialist experience. It is possible that this post could lead to a more permanent role for an appropriately qualified and motivated individual.
This post is to commence January 2025 until January 2026.

Clinical:
To develop the necessary skills to distinguish inflammatory from non-inflammatory joint pain and initiate a management plan independently with appropriate use of diagnostic investigations.
