Job summary
The post will be to work as part of an established Sarcoma Nursing Team. You will be working cross-site as a key member of the multi-disciplinary Sarcoma team. Working under the supervision of the Band 7 leads and specific Consultant leads, you will be responsible for the patients physical, psychological and social needs within their pathway of care.

Main duties of the job
Initially you will be directed by the team until you have demonstrated professional confidence to operate autonomously. It is preferable that you may have surgical experience, and a basic understanding of oncology treatments is preferable but not essential. Good communication skills are an essential part of this role. You will be delivering bad news on a regular basis
The post holder will be required/have the ability to act as clinical supervisor to peers e.g. site specific CNSs. and ward/ department teams and provide specialist clinical advice and support to tumour specific cancer multidisciplinary teams e.g. as required by DOH standards manual.
