Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to work in the Assessment Suite (AS)/Same day Emergency care (SDEC based at the Royal Victoria Infirmary.

Hours: 37 hours 30 minutes/week (to include bank holidays) this is a 6 week rota shift pattern which does incorporates nightshifts.

Main duties of the job

Duties include patient registration via the unit's electronic systems, admission of patients via hospital system, making appointment's on schapptbook, filing, photocopying, telephone enquiries, processing of daily documentation, as well as face to face enquires from the general public, patients, visitors and staff.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate excellent communication, organisational and processing skills. You will be required to work within a large multi-disciplinary team and be capable of undertaking a demanding workload. You should be familiar and confident with Microsoft office packages, and experience of working within the NHS would be advantageous. Knowledge of e-Record and Case Note Tracking would be desirable. Full training will be given.

  • The provision of an efficient administration service within the Assessment Unit and Ambulatory Care Unit.
  • To work as part of Admin Team to provide effective service for both Inpatient and Outpatient Departments within Assessment Suite and Ambulatory Care Unit.
  • The efficient running of unit reception areas and greeting of visitors and patients at the front line.
