Main duties of the job
We acknowledge that we are living in very challenging times and our Trust has much work to do to improve our performance and improve services. We have made a significant start by responding to the findings of the CQC inspection. However, we recognise there is still more to do, which the Executive Director of Nursing will play a key role alongside key executives and the wider board. We are fully committed to achieving this and to re-establishing the Trust as one of the highest performing in the country.
As our Executive Director of Nursing, you will provide professional leadership - and will be a visible role model - for our 7,000 nurses, midwives and AHPs as we continue to develop, ensuring that patient safety, quality of care and the experience of patients and their families are central to all we do. You will champion a professional and open culture which empowers staff to consistently deliver quality care with compassion, whilst taking a leading role in tackling our challenges. With prior board level experience, you will be an inclusive and values-based individual, someone who is experienced in leading complex organisations and service improvement.
