Job summary
Due to the expansion of the MRI units operating hours we are looking for highly motivated, enthusiastic MRI Radiographers with proven cross sectional experience to join our MRI teams at Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Once fully trained, you will be expected to perform a wide range of complex MRI examinations on state of the art Siemens equipment. Working in a tertiary referral centre, you will develop skills in MSK, ENT, cardiac, gynae, breast, HPB and paediatrics MRI scanning. The Trust also houses the Great North Children's Hospital and the Great North Trauma and Emergency Centre.

Main duties of the job
- We are seeking enthusiastic, suitably qualified Radiographers with MRI experience to join our friendly and dedicated MRI teams within the Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Radiology departments.
- The Radiology directorate performs a wide range of examinations supporting out patients, in patients and emergency department in HPB, renal, MSK, ENT, oncology, cardiac, breast, gynaecology and vascular examinations using state of the art Siemens equipment. The trust is a tertiary NHS organization, has a major trauma center and boasts the great North Children's Hospital.
- These posts are suited to Radiographers with proven experience in a broad range of MRI examinations, imaging techniques and a good knowledge of cross sectional anatomy and pathology. Extensive MRI safety knowledge is a must for this post. Experience in advanced imaging would be an advantage. Cannulation skills are a requirement for this post but not essential as training will be provided if required.
- The post holders will take responsibility for producing images of a high standard, supervising and training junior staff, including radiography students. Excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills are required, with the ability to work effectively in a team or independently and be able to liaise with staff of any grade within and outside of the radiology directorate.

The MRI unit runs an extended seven day service in which you will be expected to participate.

Applicants must have BSc Radiography, MSc Radiography, DCR or equivalent qualification and Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration. You will be expected to demonstrate your cross sections skills with a post grad qualification, appropriate courses or clinical experience.
