Competitive Salary - Very Senior Manager (VSM)

Permanent Full time

The Trust is seeking an experienced, driven, strategic leader to the role of Director of Quality and Safety. This is an exciting and pivotal leadership role in the Trust, supporting the Executive Director of Nursing and Medical Directors in providing strong clinical and quality governance leadership, ensuring the Trust provides high-quality services, is fully compliant with all regulatory requirements and that quality and safety is the golden thread through Trust wide decision making.

Working with key stakeholders across the Trust, you will be responsible for a number of key organisational workstreams. This includes providing assurance relating to compliance with care quality standards in order that services are supported to improve and can consistently deliver safe and effective care. You will also be responsible for the development and delivery of the Trust's quality priorities and quality account. This requires you to support and lead innovative and forward-thinking transformation strategies whilst balancing robust clinical governance systems and processes across the Trust. A key aspect to this role is to continue to lead and further embed the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework, fostering a culture of learning and quality improvement.

Main duties of the job

You will also line manage the corporate teams overseeing Quality and Safety, including Health and Safety and Legal Services.

You will support key committees such as the Trust's Quality Committee while taking active involvement in other key intermixed committees such as Audit, Risk and Assurance. From this you will be negotiating and communicating complex information that leads to agreement, implementation and delivery of key quality and safety initiatives. A major factor in this delivery will be utilisation of strong interpersonal, engagement and negotiating skills ensuring strong, transparent, and mutually beneficial stakeholder relationships, internally and externally.

This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic individual to make a difference to the quality and safety of clinical services at a pivotal time in the Trust's improvement journey.
