Job summary

An exciting development opportunity has arisen to appoint a Senior Administration Manager within Cardiothoracic Clinical Board on a fixed term 6 month basis.

We are looking to recruit an individual is patient focused, enthusiastic and hard working. This individual should have significant administration experience with a passion for improving processes and supporting staff to deliver high quality service to patients under our care. This role will oversee and support the existing office management team to strengthen the overall administrative functions throughout the directorate.

The successful candidate will be provided with a mentor and work closely with the wider management team.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will

  • Support existing admin management team with day to day management of administrative staff overseeing and giving advice around absence management, workload and performance issues.
  • Gain an overview of existing administrative workforce working with senior management to develop strategies for improvement and change if required
  • Collate and analyse data with regards to activity of the service
  • Lead on projects to review and improve current administrative pathways

  • Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline with further post graduate training or equivalent level experience.

  • Experience of leading on a project or working within a project team
  • Must have recent experience managing staff and dealing with the public.

  • Have detailed knowledge of reception and clerical procedures for managing administration and clerical staff
  • Must have a knowledge of a wider range of NHS issues including national targets and finance issues
