Job summary

New to Care

Band 2 throughout training, and Band 3 upon successful completion of apprenticeship.

No experience is necessary, as full training will be provided however knowledge of working in a healthcare setting would be an advantage. You will need to have a willingness to learn with excellent communication skills, IT skills will be advantageous.

Main duties of the job

  • Responsible for assisting the qualified nursing team with setting up of the clinical area.
  • Looking after patients pre and post procedure and reporting any concerns to the nursing team.
  • Working as part of the multi-disciplinary team to maintain high levels of patient care and dignity.
  • Contribute to clerical duties when required.
  • Contribute to cleaning and housekeeping within the department.
  • Ensure stock is available as required

Essential Requirements

  • Have recognised qualifications in Maths and English at Level 1
  • Working a minimum of 30 hours per week
  • Willingness to undertake and complete the apprenticeship course within 18 months
  • Ability to communicate with members of the public and colleagues
  • Presents self as courteous, respectful and helpful
  • Ability to work effectively under direct supervision, as part of the multi-disciplinary team

You will need to be able to meet all the eligibility requirements as prescribed by the apprenticeship criteria to undertake the role.

  • Be aged 18 or over due to the nature of the role
  • Have the right to work and remain in the UK
  • Have lived in the UK for at least 3 years
  • Provide evidence of required English and maths qualification

  • You will not be considered if you have an equivalent or higher qualification in the same or a very similar subject.
