Job summary

A vacancy has a risen within the nursery for a Catering Assistant Post to join our team.

Free Spirits is a busy 88 place Nursery catering for children 6 months to Pre School.

We are looking for a self motivated enthusiastic person who has catering experience and a relevant food hygiene certificate would be desirable.

Main duties of the job

  • To assist in the provision of catering for the children's daily food and beverages, ensuring a nutritious diet and catering for any individual dietary requirements.
  • Serving/assisting in the distribution of meal boxes and meals
  • Preparation of simple foods
  • Assist staff in the serving of meals and clearing away after meal times
  • Maintaining a high standard of hygiene within the Nursery kitchen is a major function of the role.
  • Carry out laundry tasks on a daily basis, ensuring the laundry space is well maintained and compliant with Health and Safety/COSHH regulations
  • Collate meal numbers
  • Prepare trolleys for meal times
  • Assist Nursery staff in the serving of food to the children
  • Liaise with Nursery staff to ensure all dietary requirements are accurate and up to date.
