An exciting opportunity to join our expanding team working in the Henderson Suite West Cumberland Hospital. The role will involve supporting the nursing team to deliver systemic anti-cancer treatment and supportive therapies to patients on the chemotherapy unit and assist in outpatients.
We are looking to recruit kind, caring, enthusiastic and motivated healthcare assistants to join our team caring for patients with cancer. You will be required to complete phlebotomy skills and have excellent communication skills and be confident at communicating with patients who are facing a life limiting illness. You will need to be confident in communicating with all members of the multi-disciplinary team at all levels. We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in caring for patients with cancer.
You will need to be hard working and able to demonstrate the Trust Values within everyday work. There will be the opportunity to work across both Carlisle and Whitehaven sites.
You must have worked within a hospital environment previously. Any experience working with cancer patients is desirable.

You must be able to work as part of a team, use your own initiative with effective interpersonal and communication skills, contributing fully as a member of the multi-disciplinary team. We will provide a supportive atmosphere, mentorship and clinical supervision on the unit and are committed to professional development with all staff. Team working is an integral part of this unit with all staff enabled and empowered to make a real difference for their patients.
