Job summary
Newcastle Upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is looking to recruit an enthusiastic Pharmacy Technician who will join the dispensary team based at the Freeman Hospital. We are a busy pharmacy department offering a diverse and complex range of functions and activities including; Dispensary, ward based and clinical activities, logistics, stores and procurement, clinical trials, aseptic preparation and medicines information. We have an automated robotic dispensing and stock supply system.
The successful candidate will undertake a full range of technical pharmaceutical activities within the dispensary.

Main duties of the job
- Technicians interested in this position are required to bring with them motivation and a determination to succeed in a challenging environment, along with the ability to remain calm under pressure and a commitment to future developments in pharmacy services.
- This role requires a GPhC registered technician who can demonstrate good written and oral communication skills, the ability to use own initiative and work as part of the dispensary and wider pharmacy team.
- It is desirable for applicants to hold an approved accredited checking technician qualification, if a candidate has not yet obtained this they will be expected to enrol and complete a recognised qualification.
- The successful candidate will participate in late duties, Bank Holiday duties and Weekend Working
