Job summary

We are looking for a motivated, caring and dedicated, qualified Nurse Associate to join the Ward 18 team at the Freeman Hospital. Ward 18 is an acute medical care of the elderly ward, taking admissions from the Emergency Department and Emergency Assessment Suite

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are invaluable as you will work closely with a range of specialties and professionals within the multidisciplinary team to deliver safe and effective patient centred care.

Main duties of the job

As a Nurse Associate working on ward 18, you will support the Registered Nurses in the assessment, planning and evaluation of key nursing interventions to support the treatment and clinical management of patients under your care.

Effective communication with multidisciplinary team members is fundamental within our department, as well as with other wards, departments, community services and patient's relatives.

  • To abide by the Trust policies and procedures
  • Have proficient attitudes and behaviours compatible with NHS Values
  • Work as part of a designated clinical and care team delivering care that focuses on the direct needs of the individual
  • Carry out specific delegated clinical and care tasks and responsibilities to a high standard and competency, under the supervision of a registered nurse or other registered care professionals dependent on setting
  • Have the ability to work without direct supervision, at times delivering care independently in line with the individuals defined plan of care, within the parameters of practice of the Nursing Associate role, accessing clinical and care advice when needed.
