The role requires the post holder to have some knowledge of safeguarding and child protection and be respectful of individuality, values, cultural and religious diversity of patients and families.

Although the child/young person is at the heart of everything we do on the Unit, it is essential that we have a family centred care approach, as the journey through diagnosis and treatment cannot be achieved to the best of the teams ability without it.

Although challenging and emotionally draining at the times, this role can be very rewarding. The Nursery Nurse has a vital role to play in improving the journey of the patients through our service and can make a true difference to the care that is provided for patients and families.

As a flexible working friendly organisation, we want to be sure that you can work in a way that is best for us and for our patients, and for you. Speak to us about how we might be able to accommodate a flexible working arrangement. If it works for the service, we will do our best to make it work for you.
