Job summary
We are looking to recruit a Physician Associate to support Respiratory Medicine at the Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the well-established multidisciplinary team helping to deliver high quality patient centred care. There are three inpatient areas within Respiratory Medicine at the Royal Victoria Infirmary, the post holder will predominately be working on ward 52 which treats patients with a variety of respiratory conditions and houses the regional Cystic Fibrosis Unit.

Main duties of the job
- Clerking, assessing and examining patients
- Perform diagnostic/therapeutic procedures
- Attend ward rounds
- Develop and deliver appropriate treatment and management plans
- Maintain timely and appropriate documentation
- Complete discharge summaries
- Be a key part of the multi-disciplinary team
- Contribute to the development of efficient pathways of care
- Develop clinical guidelines
- Involvement with teaching both Medical and Physician Associate students
- Contribute to departmental meetings such as the morbidity and mortality/clinical governance meetings
