We are looking to appoint a highly motivated Medical Secretary to work within the Radiology Department at the Royal Victoria Infirmary. Working under the supervision of the Radiology Office Manager and Radiology Team Leaders, the Medical Secretary will undertake a range of duties to ensure an accurate and efficient secretarial service is available to the Consultant Radiologist, their team and/ or senior members of the Radiology staff.

Main duties of the job
The post will require the coordination of all enquiries made of the Consultant Radiologist (s) making decisions and taking appropriate action on their behalf to ensure minimum interruption to the medic or immediate response depending upon appropriate action. The post holder must have a high standard of audio and copy typing skills, have experience of Microsoft Office applications, have previous secretarial experience and must be experienced in the use of medical terminology. The post holder must also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills - able to communicate across a multi-disciplinary team and have the ability to prioritise tasks/demonstrate organisational skills.

- To be responsible for the accurate transcription of medical reports from audio and script working independently with the ability to prioritise urgent cases.
- To coordinate all enquiries made of the Consultant Radiologist (s) making decisions and taking appropriate action on their behalf to ensure minimum interruption to the medic or immediate response depending upon appropriate action.
- To undertake a range of duties to ensure an efficient reception service
- The post holder will be expected to work Trust wide with varying working patterns including but not restricted to 8.00am to 20.50pm Monday to Saturday.
