There is a new opportunity for a conscientious and motivated individual within the Financial Management team.The focus will be in the provision of financial information and analysis to Budget Holders and Senior Finance staff.

Main duties of the job
The main duties of the job include:
- To ensure that financial controls are maintained within Corporate Governance guidelines.
- To assist the Directorate Accountant with the production of the monthly financial statement.
- Under the direction of senior staff to have reporting responsibility for specific Directorates or Departments.
- Production of budgets for specific areas of reporting responsibility.
- Responding to queries from Directorate and Departmental Managers.
- To provide supervisory support to Band 3 and Band 2 colleagues.
The skills required for the role are:
- A good level of education in a numerate subject
- Accounting Technician status or be progressing towards a CCAB accountancy qualification or NVQ Level 4 in a numerate subject or equivalent experience.
- A detailed understanding of accounting procedures
- Able to work autonomously to manage own workload and change priorities as necessary to achieve key tasks, although with advice available if required.
- Good communication, planning and organisational skills are essential.
- Ability to be able to work independently or part of a team, to ensure strict deadlines are adhered to.
- Able to modify, structure, maintain and present financial data and information.
