Job summary

Main duties of the job

Manages safe supply of prepared sterile and non-sterile medicines.

Supervises staff (Technicians and Assistant Technical Officers) in designated section

Contributes to stock control and reduction in wastage of medicines in particular high cost chemotherapeutic agents.

Assists in training of rotational and pre-registration pharmacists working in section.

To manage on a daily basis the provision of aseptic dispensing and licensed manufacturing services being undertaken in the RVI Production Unit. To include the checking of intravenous additives, parenteral nutrition, homecare, chemotherapy and large scale manufactured products.

To perform the professional role of a Registered Pharmacist, including advice, supervision and cooperation with colleagues, particularly in relation to support/cover for absent colleagues.

Participate in rotational training within Production Services to build knowledge and skills in all areas.
