Job summary

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join the team within the IM+T Directorate on a fixed term 12-month contract. This is an exciting opportunity to work for a digitally mature trust who have received HIMMS 6 and Global Digital Exemplar accreditation.

Main duties of the job

You will lead on strategically important projects and on furthering the culture of digital adoption within the Trust. You will work closely with clinical and non-clinical staff across the Trust to articulate business requirements, understand current and future states and help deliver solutions which improve patient care; ensuring the proposed solutions meet organisational needs and fit with Trust strategy.

Within the directorate you will work alongside project managers and system developers to drive the projects to completion. Sitting within a team of experienced Business Analysts you will use tools such as Visio and Jira to produce artefacts across the business change lifecycle and will be part of the BA community that develops and improves the services we offer to the Trust.

Job responsibilities

  • Contribute towards the delivery of the IT Services Programme/Project portfolio.
  • To make a significant contribution to the aspects of the IT Services strategy, which enables the Trust to meet its business goals and to achieve statutory and business reporting requirements
  • Work closely with Project Managers to drive assigned projects
  • In the context of specific projects, liaise between business users, IT teams and external suppliers to ensure that detailed business requirements are captured clearly and unambiguously and that such requirements are met during the course of the project and that any related changes to business processes are managed in a controlled and effective way.
  • Elicit, analyse, negotiate, validate, document, manage and deliver requirements.
  • Research, identify and analyse business needs and translate these into requirements, distinguishing between real business needs and user desire.
  • Client interaction, including needs analysis, documentation of processes, and post implementation benefits analysis.
  • Development and delivery of a comprehensive portfolio of work comprising of systems analysis, requirements documentation, systems testing, benefits analysis and feasibility studies.
  • To make a significant contribution to the ongoing development of the Trusts IT Change Framework, particularly around defining documentation standards.
  • Feeds into and updates a register of portfolio risks and issues, including mitigation plans. Ensuring that these are escalated and acted upon effectively.
  • Cross-activity relationship management.
  • The position will involve a considerable amount of interaction with colleagues, business groups, IT and external vendors.
  • Experience of managing stakeholders and debate, up to Director level
  • Manages a small team of Business Analysts.
