An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Band 6 Research Nurse to join our team in the Newcastle Clinical Research Facility (NCRF).
The posts require a dynamic individual who can work both autonomously and as part of a team. The successful applicant will be expected to manage their own caseload of patients in a variety of clinical trials, demonstrating excellent organizational, communication and time management skills as well as taking on leadership aspects as part of their professional development within the role.

Main duties of the job
As a research nurse you will work as part of the Clinical Research Team to support the safe conduct of research in accordance with the research governance framework and good clinical practice guidelines and provide assurance that the rights, safety, and well- being of trial participants are protected.
The post holder will work within the Research Team to plan, implement, organize, and manage concurrent research projects.
The applicant will develop networks with multidisciplinary teams across the trust and other appropriate local and national agencies.
The post holder will coordinate and manage the relevant study portfolio and deliver recruitment accrual in line with performance and monitoring objectives.

Due to the nature of early phase research, we work with new and groundbreaking therapies. By being part of the CRF team you will have the unique opportunity to learn about different disease areas, and work with an extensive multi-disciplinary team from a breadth of specialties.
The Clinical Ageing Research unit (CARU) specialises in neurodegenerative diseases in particular Parkinsons Disease and works closely with Cumbria Northumberland Tyne & Wear (CNTW) to deliver Dementia studies.
- To participate in the creation and maintenance of a high-quality clinical research environment.
- To initiate and manage nursing activities related to academic studies and clinical trials, from initiation to termination, according to ICH good clinical practice guidelines.
- Supervise junior members of the team.
