An exciting opportunity has become available for 2 Band 7 Dermatology Surgical Nurse Practitioner within dermatology speciality. The post is based in the Newcastle Department of Dermatology, at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle Upon Tyne.
We are looking for a motivated, flexible and dynamic Nurse to join our Dermatology Surgical Nurse Practitioner team. The successful candidate should be able to work with patients requiring dermatological surgical intervention as a curative or diagnostic procedure, are able to demonstrate their extensive experience within the Dermatological surgical interventions and hold a recognised British Society of Dermatological Surgeons Minor Procedures Course. The ability to work independently, have a positive "can do" attitude and be able to use your own initiative is essential to the role.
The successful candidate will become a crucial part of our dermatology team, managing a caseload of patients requiring dermatological surgical interventions across the Region and following agreed pathways. They will work without direct supervision to plan, organise and deliver expert nursing care using advanced clinical reasoning, critical thinking reflection and analysis to inform their practice. They will also contribute to the development of dermatology patient Pathways.

Main duties:
- Manage a caseload of patients requiring dermatological surgical interventions across the Region following agreed pathways.
- Work without direct supervision to plan, organise and deliver expert nursing care using advanced clinical reasoning, critical thinking reflection and analysis to inform practice.
- Safely and effectively performs surgical procedures following local and national guidelines
- Contribute to the development of dermatology patient pathways
- Contribute to the development of specialist formularies.
- Develop surgical management policies to promote adherence.
- Ensure compliance with our clinical governance framework, motivate colleagues, champion service user safety and dignity and drive continuous improvement.
- Maintain a high standard of clinical work when carrying out procedures.
