Job summary
We are delighted to offer an opportunity for 2 highly motivated, ambitious individuals to join our team as a full time Trust Doctor in General Paediatrics until the beginning of September. A departmental timetable can be found within this information pack to illustrate the training and service opportunities available; discussion following appointment will refine a job plan for the successful applicants.
These posts have been approved to support the acute needs of the general paediatric as a result of the department supporting a number of trainees to CCT and move onto consultant posts or OOPE. The general paediatric department is a very cohesive and supportive department, and these posts would be a fantastic opportunity for any SpR looking for experience prior to taking up a paediatric registrar post in September. You will join consultant colleagues in General Paediatrics as well as middle grades in General Paediatrics. The post includes out-of-hours paediatric work.
You must possess MRCPCH or equivalent and possess full GMC registration with a license to practice at time of application. Candidates must be available to start as soon as possible.
In addition to the challenges of the role, we can offer you a commitment to teaching, education, research and audit.
Main duties of the job
The successful individual will be expected to perform duties and take clinical responsibility to the same level as ST3+. The role will be based at the Great North Children's Hospital. The post will start as soon as possible and will finish in early September 2023, but may be able to be extended depending on staffing circumstances in the department.
For an informal discussion and further information regarding the opportunity and Directorate, please contact: Dr Jason Gane, Head of Acute Paediatrics on jgane@nhs.net or Dr Andrew Villis , College Tutor on andrew.villis@nhs.net
Closing Date: Midnight 17 July 2023
Interview Date: TBC
