Job summary
Due to the retirement of the current post holder this exciting opportunity has become available. There are 4 dedicated orthopaedic theatres covering complex tumour work alongside complex revision surgery. There are a further 15 theatres based in the department covering various specialties.
You will be supported by a band 6 team based within the specialty, plus a wider band 7 team and also the Theatre Matron.

Main duties of the job
Acting as an expert and role model in the field of orthopaedics, day to day management of a team which includes HR issues. Ensuring patient safety and the highest standards of care are delivered at all times. The ongoing development of staff, planning of the work load to ensure service delivery is maintained.
Must have excellent communication skills and be able to liaise with other departments and external organisations. You must have the ability to be flexible to meet the needs of the service and be able to demonstrate leadership skills. IT skills will be essential to ensure supplies and other stock is maintained also staff electronic roster.
