An exiting opportunity has arisen for a Directorate Accountant to manage a small team of staff providing financial information, support and guidance to one of our newly formed Clinical Boards.The Directorate Accountant will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the team, with a real opportunity to shape the team going forward.The team will be responsible for the monthly closedown, variance analysis, reporting and forecasting for a number of key clinical areas, as well as supporting managers with high quality financial information and analysis to meet their financial objectives throughout the year.

Main duties of the job
This is a key role managing and leading a small financial management team of 4-5 staff, responsible for providing financial support, advice, and guidance to a Clinical Board with total budgets in excess of £300m.
The team produce monthly management accounts to enable accurate monitoring and forecasting of the Trust's financial position, enabling managers to make well informed financial decisions.

- To ensure delivery of a high quality financial management service
- To work closely with senior Trust Corporate and/or Directorate Management, providing timely and accurate information and advice to facilitate the effective monitoring and management of the Trusts financial position and to support the decision making process.
- To play a significant role in the formulation of the Trusts annual budget.
- To ensure that financial controls are maintained within Corporate Governance guidelines.
