An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 6 musculoskeletal physiotherapist to work in the occupational health physiotherapy team.

The occupational health physiotherapy service provides both direct access and occupational rehabilitation for Newcastle-upon-Tyne Hospitals staff with musculoskeletal problems.

We are looking for an enthusiastic flexible candidate to join the dynamic occupational health physiotherapy team. The successful candidate will provide assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions alongside rehabilitation classes. Occupational Health experience is preferred but not essential for the post as a training and development will be supported.

Newcastle Occupational Health Service (NewcastleOHS) provides a range of specialist services to the Trust as well as private companies. Newcastle OHS is committed to continual learning and is SEQOHS accredited. Our service operates from the main Newcastle hospitals bases- office at Regent Point with clinics at RVI and Freeman. Our aim is to support health at work through expert advice to staff and to their employers.

Main duties of the job

  • Independent caseload management of manager and self-referrals from workers predominantly in a healthcare setting.
  • Offering physiotherapy treatment and advice as well as detailed occupational health advice to management in the form of reports.
  • Engagement with the MDT and contribution to in-house training and development
  • Supporting junior and student physiotherapists
