To be the lead for aphasia for the Adult Speech & Language Therapy team at Newcastle Hospitals NHS Trust
Largely working with in the community with long term aphasia but with oversight of all our pathwaysproviding support for less experienced SLT's in their case managementOrganising and providing group workSupervising Assistants and Volunteers.

Main duties of the job
To oversee aphasia caseload and strategy
To advise others on aphasia case management
To support other clinicians in their management of aphasia
To ensure the provision of evidence based interventions
To mange dysphagia where required

Essential
- Recognised Speech and Language Therapy Degree Qualification or equivalent.
- Registered with Health & Care Professions Council
- Licence to Practice from RCSLT
- Post graduate specialist training to master's level equivalent.
- Hanen Parent Programme training
- Specific training in Narrative approaches
- Specific training in working with Autistic Spectrum Disorders
Desirable
- Computer skills to ECDL level
- valid driving licence

- Extensive speech and language therapy experience including experience working with young children.
- Facilitating implementation of therapy by fellow professionals
- Organising and running groups
- Providing training to parents and professionals
- Working as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Supervising students
- Supervising SLT Assistants and junior therapists
- Involvement in audit and evaluation of projects
- Involvement in audit and evaluation of projects
