Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Physiotherapy Technical Instructor to join the adult Critical Care Physiotherapy Team at the Royal Victoria Infirmary. The successful applicant will work alongside a team of Physiotherapists in the team on the wards progressing mobility and promoting exercise. The post holder will demonstrate an ability to work independently when required and prioritise their own caseload.

The successful applicant will have had relevant experience as a Physiotherapy Assistant or Technical Instructor within an appropriate field and bring skills including, effective team working, highly developed communication, IT and moving and handling skills. Attributes will include being flexible, honest, reliable and willing to learn.

  • Under the supervision of a registered Physiotherapist the Technical Instructor will independently manage a designated caseload of patients, defined as noncomplex, within a specified clinical area, providing assessment and interventions on behalf of the physiotherapist within predetermined guidelines.
  • All patients will have an initial assessment carried out by a state registered physiotherapist.
