Job summary
The Information, Management and Technology Directorate are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join the team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management and successful delivery of technical projects within the IT Infrastructure team. The project manager will be responsible for the full project life cycle with a significant focus on change management and compliance.
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and driven to see projects through to completion with a desire to deliver high standards. A solid understanding of managing technology projects in a large organisation is essential to fulfil the role.

Main duties of the job
The Project Manager role is key to the success of the IM&T delivery programme and is accountable for the coordination, implementation and control of assigned infrastructure projects. The role will work with the wider Project team and work closely with key stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered to agreed quality expectations, on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning and implementation of assigned projects.
- Identify project risks and determine mitigation actions or contingency plans.
- Ensure project completion, acceptance and handover criteria have been met.

- To ensure the timely and accurate production of programme status reports for senior management, the Trust Board and as required by Strategic Health Authority.
- Development and delivery of a comprehensive portfolio of work comprising of programmes, projects, technical requests and feasibility studies.
- Client interaction, including developing a pipeline of work from the client, managing programmes/project priorities with the client, financial tracking and reporting, and project tracking and reporting.
- Cross-activity relationship management.
- The position will involve a considerable amount of interaction with colleagues, business groups, IT and external vendors.
- To make a considerable contribution to the ongoing development of the Trusts IT Change Framework (structure, processes and controls).
- Promoting the value of the Change Framework within the change community, and driving improvements based on experience gathered from business partners. Maturing those disciplines across the organisation ensuring deliverance of a professional, high quality service.
- Contributing and developing the Trust Wide Programme Management Operating Plan, maintaining alignment to NHS direction and policy.
- Managing effective interfaces in order to maintain an end-to-end view of programme priorities and direction.
- Feeds into and updates a register of portfolio risks and issues, including mitigation plans. Ensuring that these are escalated and acted upon effectively.
- Experience of managing stakeholders and debate, up to Director level.
