Job summary
We currently have an exciting opportunity within the Sir Bobby Robson Cancer Trials Research Centre at Freeman Hospital for an enthusiastic and well organised individual to join our busy early phase cancer trials administrative team as a Receptionist.

Main duties of the job
The post-holder will be reception based, assisting in but not limited to answering telephone calls, booking appointments, travel, hotels and processing referrals. They will also provide admin support to clinicians and nursing team. Previous NHS experience is preferred but not essential and reception knowledge is desirable.
The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, their relatives, nursing and medical staff. They will need excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills and be flexible to meet the demands of the service. They will liaise closely with the nursing and medical teams to provide administrative support where needed. They must have good IT skills. A caring and approachable manner is important. Other duties include appointment booking, travel and hotel booking, post, photocopying, scanning, filing and covering for other members of the admin team during sickness or leave.
