Job summary
The Clinical Research Facility is a purpose built centre and is a joint venture between the Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and the University of Newcastle. The facility specialises in clinical research over a wide range of disciplines throughout the Trust.
We are currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Paediatric nurse to support and coordinate paediatric studies across the Clinical Research Facility.
The successful applicant will be expected to manage their own caseload of patients in a variety of clinical trials as well as taking on leadership aspects as part of their professional development within the role.
This role requires an individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, effective time management and the ability to work autonomously or equally as part of a team. You should also possess good IT skills and be competent in standard PC packages such as Word and excel.

Main duties of the job
Lead on, set-up and delivery of up to 20 clinical trials.
Work within a MDT across specialties.
Support junior team members.
Ability to work across different teams and disease areas.
Deliver experimental medicines using a variety of routes. Oral, IV, IM, SC.
Advanced clinical skills such as - ECG, venipuncture and cannulation, lab sample processing preferable.
Excellent documentation skills are required in order to ensure good quality data is collected.
Patient advocacy skills / Safeguarding training up to date.
Consent and assent taking.
