The area which is served by the Community Mental
Health Team is a mixture of urban, semi-urban and rural life. The main population centres are the towns of
Oadby, Wigston, Lutterworth and also includes outlying villages.
There are 2.4 consultants based in the community. We also have another consultant who has a
caseload of 100 patients and supports referrals and MDT meetings. This post will be based at the Cedars Centre
providing outpatient support. The post
holder will work closely with the Community Team and a 24 hour, 7 days a week
Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team.
There are two separate full time consultants for the Crisis Resolution
Team. The post holder will manage a size
equivalent to a full time post holder of approximately 40,000 – 45,000 adults
aged 16 – 64. Each consultant will
manage a caseload of approximately 500 patients. The Cedars Centre operates a Single Point of
Access for referrals in a weekly allocation/referral meeting. New referrals are seen in the outpatient
clinic or in a Consultant Supported Nurse Assessment Clinic. Within a year of being in post it is
anticipated that the current workload and job description will be reviewed with
the Clinical Directors.

- MRC Psych or equivalent
- Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management
- Additional clinical qualifications
- Eligibility:
- Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practice at the time of appointment.
- Included on the GMC Specialist Register or within 6 months of the interview date
- Approved clinician status OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment
- Approved under S12 OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment
- In good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice
