An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust Safeguarding Team.

We are looking to recruit 2 full time and one part time Band 7 Senior Safeguarding Practitioners with responsibility to support the national rollout of Families First Programme. This is a new position that addresses the requirements for reform as part of Working Together to safeguard Children 2026.

The post is based at Gwendolen House (subject to change) with the requirements of the attached job description and person specification being a post requirement.

This is an opportunity to consolidate and further develop your safeguarding knowledge and expertise. You will be working across the Adult and Children Safeguarding agenda.

This post has responsibility for working under the guidance of the Lead Named Nurse for Safeguarding Children and Lead Named Practitioner for Safeguarding Adults (MCA /DoLS / MAPPA / Prevent Focus) to strengthen delivery of safeguarding assurance processes across LPT and the wider Leicester City, Leicestershire and Rutland area.

Main duties of the job

To deliver effective safeguarding supervision to staff working within front line services, ensuring risk areas within cases are managed effectively and that staff are adequately supported.

To support & contribute to the planning, delivery and evaluation of LPT safeguarding education and training programmes.

To work in partnership with partner agencies and professionals, within safeguarding processes to improve outcomes for all utilising the Whole Family approach adopted by LPT.

To support and contribute to the development of the multi agency child protection team.

You will work as part of the LPT Safeguarding Team comprising of the Head of Safeguarding, Lead Practitioner for Safeguarding(MCA/DoLS/MAPPA/Prevent Focus), Lead Practitioner for Safeguarding Children(Named Nurse), specialist safeguarding practitioners and administrative support.

In the role you will support the development and delivery of high quality safeguarding practice across the range of services provided by Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust (LPT).

You will work as a health representative in the multi agency child protection team as part of the Families First programme due to be rolled out in Leicester City, Leicestershire and Rutland.

There are three full-time positions. All applicants must have extensive clinical experience of case-load management and working with people at risk to fulfil the requirements of this exciting new role.
