Job summary
We are looking to recruit a Band 5 Occupational Therapist in our CAMHS outpatients team where we have a friendly and well established team of Occupational Therapists delivering profession specific assessment and intervention embedded within an MDT approach.
There are many opportunities for CPD within CAMHS, for hands on support and guidance from OT colleagues alongside more formal supervision.
We are passionate about supporting young people (and their families) experiencing mental health difficulties, to help them overcome barriers and engage in meaningful occupations that support recovery and wellbeing.
We work with young people in a variety of settings and use a range of OT assessments and models to inform our practice. We also run a Sensory workshop for young people to explore their sensory likes and dislikes and learn how they may impact their mental health and to develop supportive sensory based strategies.
This is a permanent part-time vacancy 22.5 hours per week and we are happy to consider applications form newly qualified OT's or those approaching qualification.Please note that this role requires a full UK driving license and access to a car during working hours.

Main duties of the job
To work alongside a team of Occupational Therapists and Multi-disciplinary team in the CAMHS outpatients team, providing Occupational therapy input for young people presenting with a range of mental health challenges.Occupational Therapy is well established within CAMHS.
- To deliver profession specific assessment and intervention in a 1:1 and groupwork format in a range of clinic, home and community settings.
- To undertake lead professional responsibilities and carry an agreed caseload under the guidance of senior clinicians.
- To work with families and those supporting the young person including liaison with external agencies such as school and social care.
- To attend and contribute at regular clinical supervision, safeguarding supervision and Multi-disciplinary case discussions.
- To attend and contribute to monthly OT referrals meetings.
- To attend monthly OT business meetings. To undertake mandatory training and appraisal.
- To take on OT trainees on placement (post preceptorship).
LPT Preceptorship is offered for newly Qualified Occupational Therapists. A wide range of inhouse CPD opportunities are available.
