Exciting opportunities have arisen to join Healthy Together teams, working within Public Health Nursing to deliver the Healthy Child Programme. This opportunity is currently available within a variety of locations across Leicestershire County. Permanent all year-round post.

Public health nursing is a discipline of its own which seeks to promote and protect the health of our population. We do this by promoting healthy lifestyles and reducing the likelihood of ill health through delivery of the Healthy Child Programme.
Public health nursing is central to giving children the best start in their lives. We offer early intervention as physical and mental health issues emerge.
We are a 0-11 service which works with children, young people and their families to deliver care within their local area.This role involves working across the 0-5 age range and its great to be able to signpost new and expectant mums to a whole range of online resources, such as Bumps to Babies antenatal programme, or weaning and portion size advice.
You will be supported through preceptorship and an extensive training programme covering areas such as Solihull approach, childhood nutrition and infant feeding.
Main duties of the job
Main duties and responsibilities: See addendum for Band 5 nurse.
- Delivery of effective health care within the organisation.
- Support the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme using evidence-based practice to actively promote the health of children, young people and families.
- Develop, deliver and engage in health promotion programmes that aim to prevent ill health, support early identification of health needs and work with individuals, education and communities to reduce health inequalities.
Pre-school elements:
- Complete 6-8 week review to assess health and development of baby and maternal mental health.
- Carry out universal and targeted 1 year development reviews.
- Universal 2-year review and delegated targeted 2 year development reviews.
