Exciting opportunities have arisen to join the 5 to 11 Leicestershire and Rutland school nursing team. Our team work within Public Health Nursing to deliver the Healthy Child Programme. We are pleased to offer full and part time job opportunities location to be discussed at interview.Our core working hours are 8.30am-4.30 Monday-Friday.
Public Health Nursing seeks to promote and protect the health of children and young people. We do this by promoting healthy lifestyles and reducing the likelihood of ill health through delivery of the Healthy Child Programme.
Public Health Nursing is central to giving children the best start in life and to reach their full potential.We offer early intervention as physical and mental health issues emerge, referring to specialist services as required. School nursing offer a range of services to meet the varying needs of the local population, which includes our well-developed digital offer.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidates will be flexible team players and role models who are able to demonstrate a willingness to lead, support and implement change. To achieve this, you will be committed to working in partnership with other key agencies and supporting the Public Health Nurse agenda.
In return you will be supported through preceptorship with an extensive training programme. We offer excellent development opportunities and have an ethos of Grow Your Own that can lead to the preparation and progression to the Specialist Community Public Health Nursing course.
As a registered nurse, the post holder will work within an integrated neighbourhood team contributing to and supporting the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme 0-19 services.
Within Leicestershire & Rutland the offer is 0-11 years. Working within Healthy Together, the post holder will contribute to improving access, identifying health needs, improving outcomes, and reducing health inequalities by providing a comprehensive neighbourhood-based service to meet the needs of local children, young people and their families.
Through a whole family approach, the focus will be on prevention of ill health, promotion of positive health and well-being and working collaboratively with the wider community.
As a member of the Healthy Together neighbourhood team the post holder will be responsible for taking an active role with the 0-19 service in the delivery of integrated health services.
