Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a flexible, enthusiastic and committed Band 8a Physiotherapy Professional Lead to join our specialist Learning disability community team.
The Learning Disability and Autism Service (LD&A) at Leicestershire Partnership Trust are seeking a passionate and experienced leader to develop and grow Physiotherapy services as part of our wider AHP team within LD&A.
The LD community service is undergoing a process of quality improvement, and this role will be key to ensuring the voice of Physiotherapy is represented.
The successful candidate will join a specialist multi-disciplinary team comprising of Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Nursing, Psychology and Psychiatry.
Together the team provide specialist care to people with a learning disability in their own homes or other community settings. The post requires a dedicated lead with previous team management experience.
A strong applicant will also have experience of change management and quality improvement. Excellent organisational, communication and team working skills are also required. Clinical experience in learning disabilities is desirable.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will:
- Lead the development of the Physiotherapy team across all Adult LD&A Inpatient/Community Services to enable continuous quality improvement in service provision.
- Be responsible for professional leadership in the Learning Disability and Autism Service (LD&A).
- Identify clinical priorities at both the operational and strategic level for Physiotherapy ensuring the highest standards of clinical and professional practice through professional leadership, clinical supervision, mentorship and practice development.
- Work collaboratively with all Clinical and Professional leads to deliver co-ordinated work across locality teams.
- Establish and maintain a clear structure for clinical and professional advice and support for Physiotherapy services.
- Ensure quality and evidence based clinical practice in line with HCPC and professional body standards.
This post attracts a Welcome Bonus. This comprises of an initial payment of £1,800 pro rata to hours worked, payable with your first salary, a further payment of £1,800 pro rata to hours worked after 12 months service and a final payment of £1,400 pro rata to hours worked after 18 months service. Qualifying criteria and Scheme Rules do apply, including a minimum tenure in post of 24 months to avoid any repayment. Full details are available upon request.
