Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Families, Young People, Childrens and Learning Disability (FYPCLDA) Directorate for a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist within two of our inpatient settings.
The successful candidate will work across two wards, both based at the Glenfield Hospital Site.
The Beacon Unit (CAMHS) is a diverse in-patient setting for children and young people.
Welford Ward is a 15 bedded Eating Disorder Unit which cares for adults with severe Anorexia Nervosa from across the East Midlands.
We are looking for a highly motivated, compassionate and skilled specialist, who brings excellent team working and energy for transformation and delivery of service to children, young people and adults with speech, language, communication and needs (SLCN).

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for the provision of highly specialist Speech and Language Therapy assessment, diagnosis and advice on intervention with adults and young people presenting with Speech, Language and Communication needs (SLCN), a range of neurodevelopmental conditions, mental health needs, eating disorders and associated behaviour challenges within inpatient settings.
You will scope, plan, implement and evaluate the Speech and Language Therapy offer to the inpatient area in collaboration with the MDTs, patients and families in line with NICE guidance and best practice models.
You will work closely with other clinical specialists, clinical leads and the wider multidisciplinary team, working alongside multi-agency partners to meet the diverse health needs of the population.
