This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced Clinical Psychologist to lead the psychology provision in our established Assertive Outreach (AO) team. AO supports individuals with longstanding mental health difficulties and is committed to psychologically informed practice. You will lead the psychology offer and provide clinical and operational leadership to psychology colleagues in the team.
You will be based at OSL House (LE19 1XU) but will travel county wide to see clients, and their families, in their homes and local communities.
The AO psychology team is part of our Psychosis Pathway, an established network of experienced psychologists and psychological therapists committed to promoting a non-pathologizing understanding of distress aimed at reducing stigma, promoting empowerment, and increasing social inclusion.
You will be well supported in this rewarding role in an AO team that really values psychological perspective and input. We welcome applications from those ready to step up to this grade as well as those in existing 8b posts. Training and professional development will be prioritised.
There are senior Psychologists in strategic positions within the Trust leading on our Transformation process. It is an exciting time to join us and a great place to work as a Psychologist as services become increasingly trauma focused and formulation driven.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be able to carry a caseload and work within a multi professional, recovery-oriented framework to provide specialist psychological assessment and intervention for service users and their carers/families.To oversee psychological provision in the AO team and ensure supervision and governance systems are in place andprovidingsupervision, consultancy, and clinical support to MDT colleagues. To support colleagues to use 5P formulation and Decider Skills and to work creatively with complex presentations.
The post holder willcontribute to multidisciplinary and senior management team meetings to ensure the effective operation of the teams. Receivingclinical supervision and line management from the clinical psychologist/psychosis pathway lead.To work with senior colleagues to ensure the continued provision of high quality, responsive psychological therapies and help to shape a psychologically informed service wide Psychosis Pathway
Supporting research, audit and evaluation and provide training. We have links with the Leicester DClinPsy course and there will be opportunities to teach on the programme as well as provide specialist clinical placements for Trainee Clinical Psychologists.
