Job summary
Supporting the nursing team is a key role and integral to the care and treatment our patients receive.
The principle role of the Senior Healthcare Assistant is to assist the healthcare team in the provision and delivery of programmes of patient care under the indirect supervision of registered practitioners.
This includes: Taking physical or psychological measurements from named clients/service users as delegated by the team.Our core hours are from 08:30-16:30 Monday-Friday.
You will work with qualified nurses to support the MDT with delegated care plan tasks.
Joining the Adult Learning Disability team will require the skills to support our client group, this includes good communication skills, with the ability to adapt when needed, as many of our patients are non verbal and require extra support in having their needs understood and met.
This role requires a full UK driving license and use of a vehicle suitable for work. Public transport is not suitable for this role.
Main duties of the job
- You will contribute to assessments and interventions including undertaking direct observations, completing specialist risk assessments and care planning.
- Supporting clients/service users in maintaining their health and wellbeing.
- Undertaking specified and delegated clinical and therapeutic activities.
- Under the supervision of healthcare professionals assist the healthcare team with the planning, organising and provision of clinical care.
- Ensuring high standards are maintained in a safe environment, which promotes equality and sensitivity for all individuals.
- Assisting Registered Professionals in the implementation and evaluation of individualised care plans.
- Accurately recording patient information and provides support and supervision to other colleagues and learners as appropriate.
- The ideal candidate will have had previous experience of working with adults or children with Learning Disabilities.
- You must have excellent communication/interpersonal skills and the ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team.
