Job summary

The clinical aspect will be experience of old age liaison psychiatry within the Mental Health Liaison Team. You will be involved in supporting the learning needs of undergraduate medical and nursing students in clinical placement. Your learning outcomes will be consistent with the requirements of the fellow and the values of Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust

Main duties of the job

Fellowship Aims To provide an opportunity to develop clinical competencies related to mental healthcare in an acute hospital setting which are highly transferable for many future career pathways. Specific support provided to Fellows High quality Clinical and Educational Supervision. A programme of organised psychiatry curriculum teaching and participation in trust journal clubs and academic meetings Study leave. The post holder will have a Personal Development Plan that articulates with the clinical timetable. Expected Learning Outcomes: Learning outcomes will be developed which are consistent with the requirements of the Fellow and values of the Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust. Applications are invited from candidates for a  Clinical  Fellowship post in Psychiatry at Leicester Medical School and Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust.  You will be a trainee who has satisfactorily attained MRCPsych and eligible  for an Out of Programme Experience (OOPE) from Core or Higher Speciality Training or in a gap between core and higher training.

All applicants  must be fully registered with the GMC and must hold a license to practice.

Qualifications

Essential

  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
  • MRCPsych passing all components of exam
  • Has either successfully completed the UK Foundation Programme with ARCP Outcome 1 or CREST form
  • Primary medical qualification
  • Full registration GMC with License to Practice or expected to achieve within 3 months

Desirable

  • Additional related qualifications, eg intercalated degree, BSc, BA, BMedSci or equivalent

Experience

Essential

  • Interest in/knowledge of the delivery of safe effective healthcare services
  • Demonstrates understanding of the basic principles of audit, clinical risk management, evidencebased practice, patient safety, and clinical quality improvement
  • Evidence of effective team working and leadership, supported by multisource feedback or other workplace-based assessments
  • Interest in/knowledge of the importance of leadership and management for clinicians
  • Demonstrates basic computer literacy, including electronic communication
